As mom of an adult son diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder, she and her husband personally navigated many challenges that families typically face when learning about a diagnosis for the first time.\u00a0 In her pursuit of finding resources and supports, she was determined to share any crucial information she could gather.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>
\u200d<\/p>
Sandra\u2019s certifications are as follows: Autism Spectrum Disorders and Person-Centered Approach to Service Delivery from the Agency for Persons with Disabilities (APD).\u00a0 In addition to having expert training in Special Education law.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>
She is also a certified Instructor in the Program for the Education and Enrichment of Relational Skills (PEERS\u00ae) from Dr. Elizabeth Laugeson with UCLA and in the SCERTS\u00ae Model from the Autism Institute at FSU College of Medicine.<\/p>
\u00a0<\/p>
\u200d\u200dSince 2010, Sandra has served as a member of Project Transition, an interagency committee with the Lee County School District to assist in sharing support and guidance towards transition services for ESE (Exceptional Student Education) students in the school district.<\/p>
\u00a0<\/p>
During 2012-2013, she took the lead in a 4 person team in drafting and developing the Vocational Training Center for Goodwill Industries of Southwest Florida.<\/p>
\u00a0<\/p>
Sandra provides a unique perspective on training law enforcement and first responders on \u201cBest Approach\u201d while interacting with individuals diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorders.\u00a0<\/p>
\u00a0<\/p>
Through a partnership with the Lee County Sheriff\u2019s Office in the development of the only nationally recognized Driver Challenge, teaching law enforcement and individuals diagnosed with Autism how to effectively communicate learning how to navigate safely on our roadways through classroom and practical lessons at the Sheriff\u2019s training facility. She also provides training for school personnel, health departments and other professional staff.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t \"Mrs. Worth was very accommodating as we needed to reschedule two sessions due to an emergency response in our fire district.
